TailGate Beer is a craft brewing company founded and based in San Diego, CA. Founded in 2007 by an SDSU alum, TailGate Beer is what happens when craft beer flavor meets tailgating fun.
Since founding, we have released up to 8 different styles of commercially brewed craft beer. Our focus and target has always been to create the ultimate session beer brewed for everyday enjoyment.
For the domestic beer drinker – We want to be your gateway beer from domestic to the world of beautiful, handcrafted deliciousness. We focus on full flavor and moderate alcohol content.
For the beer connoisseur – enjoy the opportunity to drink more than 8 ounces of full flavored craft beer. As much as we too enjoy high alcohol content and extreme flavors, we find that life sometimes calls for moderation, and the 6 pack to go with it.
Right now we package all of our beers in 12oz cans, kegs and are the first craft brewing company in the U.S. to package in 24oz cans! Every beer is brewed using traditional methods, 100% natural ingredients, homebrewing techniques and an unbending adherence to constant improvement and quality.
In 2011, we scaled back to our two lightest styles, Blacktop Blonde and Hefeweizen, while working to expand distribution into the Midwest and along the West Coast. 2012 will bring two more new styles, beginning with a Session-Style IPA in April, and a distribution focus on the Southeastern U.S. Look for us to build a variety 6 pack by 2013, as well as a lineup of specialty limited-releases to start rolling out nationally soon.
